Stock Pen rentals for the season will be open October 1st 2019 until March 31st 2020. Requirements for boarding: must have current hcbc and an AFP riding membership. Large pens with shelters are rented at a rate of $150 a month per pen max two horses in these pens. (Taxes, water heater power, hay stalls and tack boxes are extra) Small stock pens without shelters are rented at a rate of $50.
Site preparation has begun on the construction of the much anticipated Alex Fraser Park multi purpose agricultural facility. When completed the facility will offer opportunities for new agricultural events at the Park. In times of disaster such as the fires of 2017, the facility will become a management center to coordinate relief for pets and livestock from evacuated areas.
Starting on Monday, May 13 2019, the Park's front gates will be closed from 10 pm to 7am except during major rental events. For late night inquiries or travellers wishing overnight stays please contact the caretakers @ 250-991-7947.
The Alex Fraser Park Society is beginning a new year with some new directors and executive Tuesday, April 23 at the Annual General Meeting. The meeting will commence at 7 PM at the Quesnel Seniors' Centre. Eleven affiliate groups will be in attendance with three representatives from each affiliate group. 2018-2019 was an extremely busy year with many new milestones achieved and with some projects that will continue into 2019.
Congratulations to the Quesnel Rodeo Club for sponsoring another Rough Stock school under the instruction of Matt O’Flynn. The school will be held in the outdoor arena at Alex Fraser Park this weekend from April 5 to 7. Registration has been limited to twenty -two students to provide more one on one instruction. Quesnel has several talented bull riders providing qualified expertise in this event.
